Fatal Collision on KY 281 in Hopkins County

Madisonville, KY - Kentucky State Police Post 2 responded to the complaint of a fatal accident on Ky 281. Trooper Carlo Anderson and Trooper Derek Smith located the victim inside his overturned 1994 Acura Legend. The vehicle had been traveling northbound on ky281 and left westbound shoulder of the road. The vehicle then struck a tree, overturned several times before coming to final rest overturned. The victim was transported by ambulance to regional medical center in Madisonville where he was pronounced dead by the the Hopkins County Coroners office. The victim was wearing a seatbelt. The victim was identified as Jason Nelson age 24.
