KSP Post 1 Graduates First Citizens Police Academy Class

(Mayfield, Ky.) -- On Tuesday, December 15th, Kentucky State Police in Mayfield graduated its first participants of the Citizen's Police Academy. The graduation ceremony was held at Graves County Central Elementary School. Sixteen people completed the academy which included in depth discussions of the day to day practices of the Kentucky State Police. The ten week academy began on October 6th. Student took part in practical crime scene exercises, traffic stop scenarios, and each participated in a ride-a-long with a trooper for a shift. The sixteen graduates represented communities in Carlisle, Graves, Hickman, Lyon, and Marshall Counties. It is the goal of the Kentucky State Police to conduct future academies on a yearly basis.
