Date of News Release: 11/30/2009

(Grand River, Ky.) -- A three vehicle collision sent two to the hospital and closed a portion of KY 453 in Livingston county this morning. At approximately 8:30 AM, Kentucky State Police were notified of a collision involving three dump trucks on KY 453 near Devine Road in Grand Rivers. Initial investigation revealed that a truck operated by Rudy Kyncy of Wonder Lake, IL, was traveling on KY 453 when his vehicle left the right shoulder of the roadway. Kyncy's vehicle then struck a third truck operated by Brad Smith of Mayfield. After the final collision, Smith's truck traveled down an embankment before coming to final rest. Kyncy and Smith were transported to Western Baptist Hospital for minor injuries. KY 453 was temporarily shut down while emergency crews cleared the scene. State Police was assisted by the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, Livingston County EMS, Grand Lakes Fire Department, and the Kentucky Department of Highways. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper T.J. Williams with the Kentucky State Police.
