October High School Football Brawl Leads to Charges

(Hickman, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police have charged a juvenile member of the Fulton County football team with Assault 2nd degree. The charge comes after an investigation into an in-game fight between the Fulton County and Calloway County football teams on October 2nd of this year. The parent of a Calloway County football player contacted the Fulton County Attorney after their child sustained serious injury from the fight. Kentucky State Police were requested to investigate. An investigation was conducted which included the viewing of video footage of the confrontation. As a result of that investigation, a juvenile member of Fulton County's team was charged with Assault 2nd for striking an opposing player with his uniform helmet. The juvenile was charged today and was released to the custody of his guardian. The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
