Two Injured in a Two-Car Collision on I-24

(Mayfield, Ky.) -- Crystal Hauschild and Elmer Wright were both traveling westbound on I-24. Ms. Hauschild and Mr. Wright both swerved their vehicles in an attempt to avoid hitting a deer stand that was laying in the middle of I-24. Ms. Hauschild was unable to slow down and struck Mr. Wright's vehicle. Crystal Hauschild and Elmer Wright were both transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. One lane of I-24 westbound at the 18 mm was closed for approximately forty-five minutes. KSP CVE Officer Andrus was assisted by the Kentucky State Highway Department, Mercy Regional EMS, Marshall County EMS, Reidland-Farley Fire Department, Possum Trot-Sharpe Fire Department, Marshall County Sheriff's Department and McCracken County Sheriff's Department. The investigation continues by Officer Andrus.
