Attempted Murder Arrest in Clinton, Ky

(Clinton, Ky) -- Matthew B. Jones, 20, of Clinton, KY was arrested yesterday (08/19/2009) and charged with Attempted Murder. The arrest comes as a result of an investigation by State Police Detective Brett Miller. On Sunday, August 16, Detective Miller received a child abuse complaint from an area hospital stating that an infant was in their facility with numerous injuries that appeared to be the result of abuse. The infant was airlifted to Kosair's Children's hospital in serious condition as a result of the injuries sustained. Detective Miller was able to obtain a warrant on August 19, 2009 for Matthew B. Jones, charging him with Attempted Murder. Mr. Jones is the boyfriend of the infant's mother, Brittany McAdoo who is also from Clinton, KY. Detective Miller also served a warrant on Ms. McAdoo charging her with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Hindering Prosecution and/or Apprehension 1st Degree. Detective Miller is being assisted in the investigation by the Cabinet for Family Based Services, and the Commonwealth Attorney's Office.
