Post One 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police, Post One, is now accepting applications for the 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 10-week academy is slated to begin on October 6th and conclude December 16th. Students will meet Tuesdays from 6:00 to 8:30 where they will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection.
The Academy's first week will be held at the Kentucky State Police Post on Highway 45 in Hickory. The following nine weeks of the academy will be held at the Graves County Board of Education on KY 121 in Mayfield. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police, Post One at 270-856-3721. Applications can also be obtained by visiting http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post1.htm. Anyone 18 years of age living within the Kentucky State Police, Post One district is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend.
