Operation June Justice Drug Round-Up in Calloway County

(Murray, Ky.) -- Over 50 police officers gathered in Murray today (06/10/2009) for an early morning drug round-up referred to as "Operation June Justice". Kentucky State Police, Murray Police Department, and the Pennyrile Narcotics Taskforce were assisted by other law enforcement agencies in an effort to locate and arrest suspected drug traffickers in the Murray/Calloway County area. The early morning round-up was the culmination of over six months of covert drug investigations by the Kentucky State Police, Murray Police, and the Pennyrile Narcotics Taskforce. Officers gathered at the Kentucky National Guard Armory in Murray at 5:00 AM before dispersing to various locations in Calloway County in an attempt to locate and arrest the suspected drug traffickers for which warrants had previously been obtained. By 12:00 PM, a total of 37 individuals were located and arrested for various drug charges. Kentucky State Police, Murray Police, and Pennyrile Narcotics Taskforce were assisted by the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, and the Calloway County Jail. The investigation of drug trafficking in Calloway County continues by Kentucky State Police, Murray Police Department, and Pennyrile Narcotics Taskforce.
