Fatal Collision on US 62 & J.H. O'Bryan in Livingston County

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Mr. Clarence F. Jones was northbound on J.H. O'Bryan approaching the intersection of US 62. Mr. Jones failed to yield to the right of way and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle overturned and slid unto US 62 striking the trailer of a semi that was traveling eastbound. The semi was driven by Kevin Stone of Robards, KY. The vehicle came to final rest in both lanes of US 62 East. A passenger in Mr. Jones' vehicle, Clint Combs was transported to Western Baptist Hospital where he was treated and released. A passenger in the semi, Stacey Stone, was transported to Lourdes Hospital where he was treated and released. The driver of the semi was not injured. Mr. Jones was transported to Lourdes Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Trooper Trotter was assisted at the scene by Trooper Tim Sales, Accident Reconstructionist, Grand Lakes Fire Department, Marshall County EMS and Livingston County EMS. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Trotter.
