Structure Fire & Death Investigation in Bardwell, KY

(Bardwell, Ky.) -- Carlisle County Dispatch received a call of a structure fire at 185 Road Street in Bardwell at approximately 0427 hours. Bardwell Fire Department responded to the scene and observed a 1987 Coachman Crusader Travel Trailer fully engulfed. After the fire was contained, the fire units learned that there was a single victim located inside the trailer. An autopsy was performed today in Madisonville, KY and the victim was identified as 65-year -old Max Shemwell. No foul play is suspected and toxicology reports are pending. Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Carlisle County Coroner's Office, Bardwell Fire Department, Bardwell Police Department and the State Fire Marshall's Office. The investigation is continuing by Detective Jerry Jones and Arson Investigator Frank Gresham.
