Operation "Red Hoover" Drug Round Up in Graves County

(Mayfield, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police and the Graves County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with various other law enforcement agencies, executed multiple warrants on various Graves County residents early this morning. "Operation Red Hoover " was the culmination of over six months of investigation by the Kentucky State Police and Graves County Sheriff's Office into the trafficking of illegal drugs in and around Mayfield. Over 40 law enforcement personnel gathered at 5:00 AM in Graves County before dispersing throughout Mayfield in order to locate individuals for whom warrants had already been obtained. By 9:00 AM, officers had located and arrested 20 individuals for various drug charges. The following is a list of those arrested as well as the charges against them.
Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree is a class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in the state penitentiary. Trafficking in a controlled substance 2nd degree and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1000 yards of a school is a class D felony punishable by up to 5 years in the state penitentiary. The Kentucky State Police and Graves County Sheriff's Office continue their investigations into drug trafficking in Graves County. State Police and Graves County Sheriff's office was assisted by the Mayfield Police Department, Pennyrile Narcotics Taskforce, Graves County Jail, Graves County Office of Probation and Parole, Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.
