Sex Offender Arrest in Hickman County

(Clinton, Ky) - A Hickman County man was arrested on Tuesday, April 14th, after Kentucky State Police learned of possible sex offender registry violations. On April 8th, Trooper Mike Cook began investigating Steven Rowland, 55 of Clinton, for possibly providing false information to the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. Through his investigation, Trooper Cook determined that Mr. Rowland was living between Hickman County Elementary and Hickman County High School. Registered sex offenders, by law, are restricted from residing within 1000 feet of a school. Mr. Rowland had previously provided the registry with an address in Carlisle County. On April 14th, a warrant was obtained and Steven Rowland was arrested and charged with Sex Offender Registry Restriction 1st Offense and Violation of Sex Offender Registry 1st Offense, a class D felony. Mr. Rowland was lodged in the Hickman County Jail and was released on Wednesday after posting a $750.00 bond. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Mike Cook with the Kentucky State Police.
