Shooting Investigation in Trigg County

(Cadiz, Ky) - Kentucky State Police are currently investigating a shooting that took place in Trigg County late Friday evening. On March 27th, at approximately 10:30 PM, the Trigg County Sheriff's Department contacted Kentucky State Police, Post One, and requested an investigation into a shooting incident involving Deputy Jimmy Goodair and an unknown assailant. The incident happened at the intersection of Siloam Road and Alexander Road in Trigg County. The deputy had responded to a complaint of an ATV traveling on the roadway. When the deputy responded to the area, he came upon a camouflage four-wheeler in the roadway. The operator of the ATV fired two shots at the deputy prompting the deputy to return two shots. The deputy was not injured and the operator of the ATV fled into a wooded area on his vehicle. The assailant was not apprehended. The Kentucky State Police are actively conducting an investigation at this time.
