Injury Collision on Julian Carroll Purchase Parkway in Graves County

(Hickory, Ky.) - A vehicle operated by Mrs. Melissa Moffitt was traveling south on the Julian Carroll Purchase Parkway between the 32 and 31 mile marker. Mrs. Moffitt lost control of her vehicle and spun into the southbound ditch. The vehicle overturned coming to final rest on its roof. Mrs. Moffitt and her passenger, Angela Curry, were ejected from the vehicle. Mrs. Curry's child, Trista Jenkins, was still secured in the child seat in the vehicle. After further investigation Mrs. Melissa Moffitt was arrested and cited into court for Driving Under the Influence 1st and Wanton Endangerment 2nd. Mrs. Angela Curry was cited into court for Wanton Endangerment 2nd. All parties involved were transported to Marshall County Hospital. Mrs. Curry was later transported by air to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Trooper Byron White was assisted on the scene by Graves County Sheriffs Deputy Van Allen, and Mayfield Graves County EMS.
