Drug Arrest on I-24 in Livingston County

(Mayfield, KY) - Evan Armstrong was travelling eastbound on Interstate 24 in his 2000 Mazda Protégé. Trooper Williams stopped Mr. Armstrong because of a registration violation. Trooper Williams observed several indicators of criminal activity present. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted and the K-9 unit alerted a positive hit. Trooper Williams located $4000 dollars worth of narcotics (1.1 pounds of marijuana and 1.6 grams of cocaine). Mr. Armstrong was taken into custody and is being charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st -Cocaine, Trafficking in Marijuana- 8 ounces to 5 pounds, and Drug Paraphernalia 1st. Armstrong was lodged in the McCracken County Jail. Trooper Williams was assisted at the scene by CVE Officer Michael Sandbrink and his K-9. Investigation continues by Trooper Williams.
