Sexual Abuse Arrest in Ballard County

(Hickory, KY) - A Ledbetter man has been charged with additional sex crimes after a continued joint investigation by the Paducah Police Department and the Kentucky State Police. An image of Robert Blake, click here to enlarge in a new windowRobert Blake, 22, was charged in November by Paducah Police for multiple counts of rape, sodomy, and sexual abuse. In the course of the Paducah Police investigation, it was discovered that other offenses may have taken place in Ballard County. Paducah Police contacted the Kentucky State Police to continue investigating.

After a month-long investigation, Robert Blake was charged with 50 counts of Sodomy 1st Degree and 20 counts of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree. All of these offenses are alleged to have taken place in Ballard County during the summer of 2008. Mr. Blake was formally charged on January 1st, 2009 and remained lodged in the McCracken County Jail. Mr. Blake's bond was set at $100,000 cash. The investigation is ongoing by Detective Brett Miller with the Kentucky State Police.
