Armed Robbery Investigation on I-24 in Livingston County

Date of News Release: 01/01/2009

(Grand Rivers, KY) - At approximately 1200 hours this date (01/01/09), an armed robbery of an individual was reported to the Kentucky State Police Post 1. The alleged robbery occurred at the Interstate 24, east bound on-ramp at Exit 31, in Livingston County. A commercial vehicle driver reported that he stopped on the emergency shoulder of the exit ramp to conduct an inspection of his vehicle. While standing beside his vehicle, he reports that two black males and third male, of an unknown ethnic origin, approached him. One of the black males allegedly confronted the commercial driver with a black handgun and made demands. The driver reported that the suspects took his wallet containing an undisclosed amount of money, before fleeing the scene. The three suspects occupied an unknown model, blue Ford passenger car, believed to be a smaller sedan, possibly a four-door. They were last seen traveling east bound on Interstate 24, from Livingston County.

The suspects' descriptions are as follows:

  1. Unknown, black male; 5-08 to 5-10, 150 lbs., with short black hair, a goatee that had thin sideburns extending to the goatee; wearing a solid white, plain t-shirt and blue jeans;
  2. Unknown, black male, no descriptors;
  3. (3) Unknown ethnic origin male, no descriptors, other than him having lighter complexion than suspects # 1 and/or # 2.
