Fatal Motorcycle Collision on US 60 in Daviess County

(Henderson, Ky.) -- Paul F. Coomes was operating a 2007 Yamaha Motorcycle westbound on US 60 West. William C. Greenwell was operating a 2000 Oldsmobile on US 60 west stopped in traffic to make a left hand turn onto Owensboro-Reed Road in front of Mr. Coomes. Mr. Coomes' motorcycle collided with the rear of Mr. Greenwell's vehicle. Mr. Coomes was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Daviess County Coroner's Office. Mr. Greenwell was not injured as a result of the collision. Mr. Coomes was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Mr. Greenwell was wearing a seat belt. The collision is still under investigation at this time.
