Two Injured in a Three Vehicle Collision on Ky 55
Date of News Release: 11/15/2009
(Adair County, Ky.) -- A collision occurred on Ky 55 @ 4:15 P.M. approximately 7 miles North of Columbia. Velva Burton, age 47, of Columbia was operating a 1993 Mercury Southbound when she struck a 2000 GMC Pickup operated by Bobby Pelley, age 51, of Columbia, also traveling Southbound. Ms. Burton's vehicle was then struck from behind by a 1997 Chev S-10, operated by Bethany Boston, age 18, of Summer Shade, Ky also traveling Southbound. Ms. Boston and Ms. Burton were transported to Westlake Hospital by Adair County EMS for non life threatening injuries. Mr. Pelley and two passengers in Pelley's vehicle, Clyde Pelley, age 81, of Columbia and Louise Pelley, age 80, of Columbia were not injured.
Trooper Tracy Haynes investigated. Trooper John Boyd, Adair County Sheriffs Department and Columbia Police Department assisted at the scene.
