One Injured in a Motor Scooter Collision

(Casey County, Ky.) -- Tpr. Bryan Shepard is investigating a collision that occurred Sunday afternoon at 3:15pm, two miles East of Windsor at the junction of KY 80 & Merritt Ridge Road.

David Stout, age 22 of Somerset, was operating a motor scooter when he attempted to pull on to East KY 80 from Merritt Ridge Road and collided with a 1995 Nissan Altima being operated by Jason McKinney, age 32 of Russell Springs. Mr. Stout was not wearing a helmet; he was airlifted from the scene by LIFENET to UK Medical Center for treatment of non life threatening injuries. Mr. McKinney and a passenger in his vehicle, 34 yr old Lori Johnson of Russell Springs were both wearing a seatbelt and not injured.

Tpr. Shepard was assisted at the scene by Casey County EMS and Evona Fire Department.
