Clinton County Resident Receives KSP Awards
Date of Photo Release: 05/27/2009
Albany, Ky. resident Det. Jeffery L. Vincent received a Citation for Bravery Award and the Guthrie Crowe Award from Kentucky State Police Commissioner Rodney Brewer (left) and J. Michael Brown, Justice and Public Safety Cabinet Secretary (right), on May 20 in Frankfort. He received the awards as the result of a March 2008 incident in Clinton County where a woman was abducted by her estranged husband, who was heavily armed with high-powered rifles, a shotgun and several pistols. Vincent was wounded during the incident and pinned down for more than two hours by the suspect, who fired more than 100 rounds at the troopers. Named after the first commissioner of the Kentucky State Police, the Guthrie Crowe Award is bestowed on officers of the agency who sustain a severe wound or injury in the performance of duty. Vincent is a 20-year KSP veteran and a 1977 graduate of Clinton Co. High School. He is the son of Doyle and Wanda Vincent of Albany.
