Trooper John Adams receives Citation for Bravery

Lebanon, Ky. resident Trooper John Adams (center) received a Citation for Bravery award from Kentucky State Police Commissioner Rodney Brewer (left) and J. Michael Brown (right), Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet Secretary on May 20 in Frankfort. A three-year KSP veteran, Adams is assigned to KSP Post 15 in Columbia. He received the award for a Nov. 2006 incident during a traffic stop he conducted with two Lebanon Police Dept. officers and a Marion Co. Deputy Sheriff. During the stop, the suspect exited his vehicle armed with two .22 caliber pistols and began firing in the direction of the officers. Trooper Adams fired two shots from his pistol, striking the suspect once, ending the threat. A native of Eddyville, Ky., Adams is a 2002 graduate of Lyon County High School. He is the son of Bill and Lisa Adams of Eddyville.
