Fatality Involving a Pedestrian Occurs In Leslie County

(Stinnett, Ky.) -- On December 30, 2009 at approximately 10:25 pm Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a call of an accident involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian in the Stinnett community of Leslie County.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and it was determined that 48 year old Pennie Rogers of Mt. Sterling, Ky. was attempting to cross the road at the intersection of Highway 406 and 421 and was struck by a vehicle operated by Roger Bowling of Stinnett, Ky. Rogers was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Leslie County Coroner's Office and Mr. Bowling was transported to Mary Breckenridge Hospital by private vehicle where he was treated and released. No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is continuing by Tpr. Loren Holiday.
