Murder Investigation and Arrest in Leslie County

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On October 3, 2009 at 09:56 hrs Kentucky State Police Hazard received a call from the Leslie County Emergency Operations Center reporting that a subject was found dead in the yard in the Thousandsticks Community of Leslie County. Troopers along with Leslie County Trans Star Ambulance were dispatched to the scene. On arrival of State Police Troopers, they advised that Charles Hendrix was located shot in upper chest area and deceased. Units then spoke with the girlfriend of the deceased, and then followed up on the lead that female had given which led to the arrest of a 17 year old juvenile male. The subject was detained without incident. Detectives with Kentucky State Police opened a case for murder and pending further investigation.
