Fight in Knott County Leaves Two Men with Gunshot Wounds

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On Monday, August 10, 2009, at approximately 9:10 pm, Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a call of a fight complaint in the Clear Creek area of Fisty, in Knott County. Several subjects were involved in the disturbance, which resulted in two men being transported to medical centers for treatment of gunshot wounds.
David Smith, of Fisty, was airlifted to Holston Valley hospital due to gunshot injuries he received as a result of this incident, and is currently listed in critical condition. Roger Collins also received gunshot wounds, and was transport by private vehicle to a Pikeville hospital, and was to be transferred to UK Medical Center. This investigation is being conducted by Detective Randy Combs of Post 13 Hazard, and is continuing at this time.
