Death Investigation in Perry County

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On 05/01/09 at approximately 02:50 a.m. Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a call that a body had been found on Georges Branch near a mine site in the Vicco Community of Perry County.

State Police Troopers arrived at the scene and confirmed that a human body was in fact located. The Perry County Coroners Office pronounced the person deceased at the scene and the remains of a female was taken to the State Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort for positive identification and to determine the cause of death. The investigation is continuing by Det. Randy Combs.
