Murder Investigation in Leslie County

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On 04/18/2009 Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a call from the Leslie County E.O.C that a man was inside his residence and possibly deceased.

Kentucky State Police along with the Leslie County Sheriff's Department and Trans Star Ambulance responded to the scene to find that a white male was lying in the floor inside the residence deceased. Preliminary Investigation indicates that Kelly Johnson Jr. age 66 of Hyden, Ky. had received a single gunshot wound. The victim has been taken to the Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort for an Autopsy. No arrests have been made at this time.
