Letcher County Man Injured in Accident

(Hazard, Ky.) - On 03/17/09 Kentucky State Police received a 911 call of an accident involving a Pedestrian and a road grader in the Gordon Community of Letcher County.

Letcher County Road Department employees were working on a cemetery road at Stagger Weed Lane when Luke Craft, age 50, of Mayking, Ky stepped into the path of the grader operated by Jerry Noble, age 28, of Dean, Ky. The operator did not see the victim and the front grader wheel struck him causing injuries. Mr. Craft was air lifted to Holston Valley Medical Center for his injuries. No one else was injured in the accident. The accident remains under investigation by Tpr. David Combs.ased by the attending emergency room physician. Trooper First Class Derek Hall, U/408 is in charge of the investigation.
