Perry County Drug Seizure & Arrest

(Hazard, Ky.) - At around 9 PM on Tuesday March 03, 2009 Kentucky State Police Trooper Ronnie Long and Trooper Billy Pollard with Post 13 in Hazard conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Toyota Tundra that was observed speeding on the Hal Rogers Parkway in Perry County. The troopers located a large quantity of prescription medication in the vehicle, including 114 Endocet tablets, 210 Methadone Tablets and 240 various other prescription tablets. The driver, Christopher Jewell was charged with DUI and other traffic violations and his passenger, Michael Thompson was charged with Public Intoxication, Criminal Littering, and 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st. He was also wanted on charges of Flagrant Non-Support. Both were lodged into the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
