Burglary & Theft by Unlawful Taking/Automobile Investigation in Perry County

(Hazard, KY) - Trooper Johnny Feltner, U/848 with the Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard responded to a reported burglary at Grand Vue Auto Sales in the Airport Gardens section of Hazard where sometime during the early morning hours a Saturday January 17th, 2009 entry to the business office of the pre-owner car dealership was made be breaking the front glass of the business out. Once entry was made the keys for a 1991 Chevrolet Tracker and a 1997 Chevrolet s-10 Blazer were taken and the vehicles were then stolen from the business. Trooper Feltner later received information that one of these vehicles was observed at the McDonald's restaurant nearby. Trooper Johnny Feltner and Trooper Adam Hall, U/890 responded and located and recovered the vehicle which was parked in a nearby parking lot. The operator (Nicholas B. Salley) of the vehicle was arrested a short time later after he was found inside the McDonald's restaurant. Earlier in the morning the other vehicle which was stolen in this incident was also recovered. The suspect (Nicholas B. Salley) has been lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard, KY. Nicholas B. Salley was charged with 3 counts of Theft By Unlawful Taking- Automobile, 1 count of Burglary 3rd Degree, No Insurance, No Insurance Card, 1 Count of resisting arrest, 1 count of Terroristic Threatening and 1 count of Disorderly conduct. This investigation remains open at this time and Trooper Johnny Feltner is in charge of the investigation. Numerous other burglaries were also reported in the Combs and Airport Gardens communities earlier this morning Trooper Johnny Feltner, U/848 is also in charge of each investigation.
