One Killed and One Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- On Saturday 12-26-09, at 7:22 PM Mr. Dennis C. Murphy Jr. was traveling eastbound on Fisherville Road (KY 148) in Shelby County. Mr. Murphy lost control of his vehicle, leaving the roadway and striking a tree head-on. Mr. Murphy was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle came to final rest in the westbound lane.

A second collision: Mr. Calvin A. Hall was traveling westbound on KY 148. Mr. Hall's vehicle struck Mr. Murphy's Dodge pickup in the westbound lane.

Dennis C. Murphy Jr. was pronounced dead by the Shelby County Coroners Office. Mr. Murphy died from injuries sustained from being ejected from his vehicle.

Mr. Hall received non-life threatening injuries from the collision. He was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital. Neither Mr. Murphy or Mr. Hall were wearing seatbelts.
