Mother Charged With Cocaine Usage During Pregnancy

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- Kentucky State Police investigation has lead to the indictment of a Franklin County mother. On Wednesday, October 28, 2009, a Franklin County Grand Jury indicted Jennifer Hazlett of Frankfort on Wanton Endangerment 1st and Possession of Cocaine 1st charges. Jennifer Hazlett was arrested by KSP on October 29, 2009, at 10:30 AM and lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center.
The investigation started in September 2009 in conjunction with the Department of Families and Children and the Franklin County Commonwealth Attorney Office. The investigation revealed that the accused Jennifer Hazlett continually used cocaine during her pregnancy. The accused gave birth to a baby girl weighing 2 pounds 15 ounces. Medical records revealed that the baby girl tested positive for cocaine. Investigation is ongoing.
