Drug Round-Up in Franklin County

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- At approximately 6 a.m. troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 12 began a round up of fourteen (14) street level drug dealers in Franklin County.

These arrests are the culmination of a five (5) month investigation of street level drug sales in different communities in the county.

Drugs purchased by undercover detectives include, powder cocaine, crack cocaine, and a variety of prescription pills (oxycontin, percocet, hydrocodone, lortab, and liquid morphine).

This round up is a continuation of last weeks arrests in Woodford County in which 24 persons were arrested on 42 various drug charges.

This week fourteen suspects face a total of 29 criminal charges, 27 being felony and 2 misdemeanor charges.

Kentucky State Police Post 12 is being assisted by the Frankfort Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.
