(London, Ky.) -- On Sunday, December 06, 2009, at 8:27 PM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report, from KSP Trooper Wendell Higginbotham, of a two vehicle traffic crash on US 27 in Pulaski County 4 miles south of Burnside.

Trooper Higginbotham discovered the crash as he traveled northbound on US 27.

KSP Traffic Crash Reconstructionist Trooper Greg Hill responded to the scene and determined that a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix, operated by a female juvenile, was northbound on US 27 when, for a unknown reason, it crossed the centerline and struck a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup, operated by Arron Perry, age 20, of Whitley City, head-on.

Her passenger, Steven Slinker, age 30, of Attica, Indiana, as well as the operator of the other vehicle were airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

Trooper Hill is continuing the investigation and was assisted, at the scene, by Trooper Tony Dingess, Trooper Shaler Jones, Trooper Wendell Higginbotham, Trooper Tracey Haynes, the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, the Pulaski County EMS, the Burnside Fire Department, the Pulaski County Rescue Squad, a Pulaski County Constable and the Pulaski County Coroner's Office.
