One Killed and One Charged with Murder in Two Vehicle Collision

(London, Ky.) -- On Sunday, November 22, 2009, at 7:58 PM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of a two vehicle traffic crash on US 421 in Clay County near the 22 mile marker.

Upon arrival Trooper Greg Hill determined that a 2000 Ford Excursion SUV, operated by Lanny Sizemore, 40, of Manchester, was northbound on US 421 when it crossed the centerline and struck a 1999 Saturn SL2 passenger car, operated by Ellen Fletcher, 35, of Pineville.

Ms. Fletcher, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from her vehicle. She was transported to the Manchester Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries and was pronounced dead at 8:40 PM.

Mr. Sizemore was arrested at the scene and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Drugs and Murder.

Mr. Sizemore was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.

Trooper Hill is continuing the investigation and was assisted, at the scene, by KSP/CVE Sgt. Brian Jackson, the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the Manchester Police Department, the Manchester Fire/Rescue and the Clay County EMS.
