5 Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision on I-75

(London, Ky.) -- On Friday, November 20, 2009, at 8:35 PM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of a single vehicle traffic crash, with injury, on I-75 in Rockcastle County near the 61 mile marker.

Upon arrival Trooper Coby Smith determined that a silver 2003 GMC Envoy SUV was southbound on I-75 when, for an unknown reason, it went out of control, striking the median barrier cable and overturned.

The five occupants are identified as:

Driver - Ryan Atkins, 21, Ohio, flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Passenger - Jonathan Doerger, 21, Ohio, flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Passenger - Mike Jarvis, 21, Ohio, flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Passenger - Kyle Quinn, 19, Ohio, transported to the Rockcastle County Hospital.
Passenger - Dan Rehard, 21, Ohio, transported to the Rockcastle County Hospital.

Medical conditions are unknown at this time.

Alcohol and / or drug usage is not suspected at this time.

Trooper Smith is continuing the investigation and was assisted, at the scene, by the Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office, the Mount Vernon Police Department, the Rockcastle County Fire / Rescue and the Rockcastle County EMS.
