Vehicle Pursuit and Meth Lab Arrest in Rockcastle-Laurel Counties

(London, Ky.) -- On Monday, November 09, 2009, at 00:20 AM Kentucky State Police Trooper Scottie Pennington observed a Toyota truck, with only one headlight, traveling southbound on US 25 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky.
Trooper Pennington activated his emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle for the violation but the operator refused to stop. A vehicle pursuit began and travel for approximately 10 miles, entering Laurel County, where a tire deflation device was utilized to bring the vehicle to a stop.
Further investigation into why the operator did not stop for Trooper Pennington uncovered an active Meth lab inside the truck.
Trooper Pennington arrested and charged the following people:
Ford J. Wagers, 24, of London, charged with fleeing or evading police, unlawful possession of Meth precursors and several traffic offenses.
Frankie Powell, 29, of Brodhead, charged with fleeing or evading police, unlawful possession of Meth precursors and several traffic offenses.
Both individuals were lodged in the Rockcastle County Detention Center.
Trooper Pennington is continuing the investigation and was assisted, at the scene, by Trooper Mike King, Trooper Chris Roberts, Trooper Fred Pennington, Sergeant Steve Walker, the Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office, the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, the London Police Department and the Laurel County Department of Public Safety.
