Assault Investigation and Arrest in Pulaski County
Date of News Release: 08/18/09
(London, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London is investigating an Assault complaint that occurred on Thursday, 08-13-2009, at 2 PM outside a residence on Newell Avenue in Bronston, KY.
The initial report, made to the Pulaski 911 center, was that an accident had occurred at the residence where two men were working for the homeowner. The victim Ernie Wood, 42, of Somerset, was flown from the scene to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington with a head injury.
Detective Doug Boyd, of the Kentucky State Police, began an investigation into the incident after information surfaced that Wood's injuries were not the result of an accident.
Detective Boyd learned that an argument had occurred between the victim and his employee Kenneth Gill, 28, of Somerset. As a result of the argument the victim received a head injury from a blunt instrument.
Detective Boyd arrested Gill on Monday evening charging him with Assault 1ST Degree and lodged him in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
Detective Boyd is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by Trooper Parrish Baker, Trooper Sean Dixon and Pulaski County Sheriff's Detective Scott Trotter.
