Hit and Run Injury Traffic Collision Involving A State Trooper

(London, Ky.) -- On Sunday, August 2, 2009, at approximately 2:42 AM the Kentucky State Police Post 11, in London, received a report of an injury traffic crash involving a Kentucky State Police vehicle on the Cumberland Parkway in Pulaski County, KY.
Trooper Wendell Higginbotham was traveling on the Cumberland Parkway at the intersection with Ringgold Road when a white pickup truck disregarded a traffic control device, striking him in the drivers side and disabling the police vehicle.
Trooper Higginbotham was taken to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital where he was treated and released with minor injuries.
The white pickup, possibly a Ford F-series, left the scene after the impact.
