Injury Traffic Crash in Laurel County

(London, Ky.) -- On Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 12:10 PM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London received a report of a traffic crash, with injury, at the intersection of US 25 and KY 80 in London.
Upon arrival Trooper Greg Hill determined that a blue 1993 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, driven by Ian G. Mounts, 32, of Palm Bay, FL entered the travel path of a red 2007 Sterling dump truck, driven by Isaac Stanley, 56, of Richmond, KY.
Witnesses stated the dump truck, which was traveling westbound on KY 80, had the green light as it entered the intersection. The S-10 entered the dump trucks path, from an unknown direction, and was struck on the passenger's side.
Mounts, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to the Saint Joseph of London Hospital and then transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment.
Stanley was not injured.
No alcohol involvement is suspected.
Rrooper Hill is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by officers from the Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, the London Police Department and the Laurel County EMS.
