Fatal Traffic Crash in Laurel County

(London, Ky.) - On Wednesday, April 01, 2009, at approximately 8:05 AM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, in London was notified, by the Laurel County 911 Dispatch, of a two vehicle traffic crash with fatality on US 25E in Laurel County.
Upon arrival Trooper First Class Don Trosper determined that a gray 1991 Buick Regal, driven by Dayle A. Leach, 22, of Williamsburg, was southbound on US 25E when it failed to stop at a red signal light and struck the left side of a tractor/trailer. The Buick then passed under the trailer causing fatal injury to Dayle A. Leach.
The tractor/trailer a white 2006 Freightliner, driven by Gene A. Inmon, 43, of Lima, OH was making a left turn from South Stewart Road onto northbound US 25E at the time of the crash.
Alcohol use is not suspected and Dayle A. Leach, who was partially ejected, was not wearing a seatbelt.
Gene A. Inmon was not injured in the crash and was seat belted.
Trooper Trosper is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by officers from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, the Laurel County Coroner's Office and the West Knox Fire Department.
