Fatal House Fire in Whitley County

(London, Ky.) - On Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at approximately 6:21 AM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, in London was notified, by Whitley County 911 Dispatch, of a house fire on New Zion Road in Whitley County.

Upon arrival KSP Post 11 Detective Colan Harrell and KSP Post 10 Arson Investigator Josh Bunch determined that there was one fatality involved.

Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley removed the victim from the scene and identification is pending.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation at this time, but no foul play is suspected.

Detectives Harrell and Bunch are continuing their investigation and they were assisted at the scene by the Whitley County Coroner and members of both the Woodbine and Rockholds Fire Departments.
