Possible Aircraft Crash in Pulaski - Laurel County

Date of News Release: 02/28/09

(London, Ky.) - On Saturday, February 28, 2009, at approximately 12:15 PM EST the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, in London was notified by the Indy Flight Center that they had received a distress signal from a Cessna 172 airplane before losing it on radar in the Laurel / Pulaski county area.

A search for the aircraft began in both Laurel and Pulaski with numerous agencies involved.

On Saturday, February 28, 2009, at approximately 3:23 PM EST the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, in London was notified that the aircraft and pilot had been located in Shelby, NC.

Both pilot and aircraft are safe.
