Post Ten 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy

(Harlan, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan is now accepting applications for the 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 10-week academy is slated to begin on Tuesday, September 29th and conclude December 7th. Students will then meet Mondays from 6:30p.m.-9:00 p.m. where they will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection.
The Academy will be held at the Harlan County Extension Depot at 110 River Street, Harlan, KY 40831. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police Post 10 at 606-573-3131 or online at http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post10.htm. Anyone 18 years of age or older living within the Kentucky State Police Post 10 area of Knox, Bell or Harlan County is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend. All applicants will be subject to a background check.
