Post 10 Harlan Activity for Operation "Click It or Ticket"

(Harlan, Ky.) -- From May 18th-May 31st, 2009 the Kentucky State Police were part of the nation wide enforcement campaign "Click It or Ticket" to help reduce fatalities across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. During this time, Post 10 Harlan Troopers conducted 27 traffic check-points in which Troopers made 22 DUI arrests, wrote 502 seatbelt citations, 33 child restraint citations, 40 suspended license citations, 192 citations for no insurance, 121 citations for speeding, two drug arrests, two felony arrests and 1144 citations for other violations.

Citizens can contribute to highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to the Kentucky State Police toll-free at 1-800-222-5555. Callers will remain anonymous and should give a description of the vehicle, location, direction of travel and license number if possible.
