Arrest Made in the Robbery Investigation in Regina, KY

Date of News Release: 12/18/2008

(Pikeville, KY) - Jody Dotson of 455 Millers Fork Road Steele, Ky. D.O.B. 05-27-1982 was arrested on 12-17-2008 at 7:00 P.M. at Feds Creek, Ky. and charged with robbery 1st. Degree. Mr. Dotson was arrested in reference to warrants obtained by Detective Kevin Newsome, and Detective Gary Sykes of the Kentucky State Police Post 09. The warrants stated that Mr. Dotson entered Judy's Variety Store on 12-16-2008 approximately 4:23 P.M. a robbed the store armed with a knife. Mr. Dotson had four pocket knives in his possession at the time of the arrest. Officer's also recovered property in Mr. Dotsons possession from an unrelated residential burglary. He is lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on $30,000.00 Full Cash Bond.

(Pikeville, KY) - A white male subject, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans entered Judy's Variety and Tanning Store at Regina, KY. The subject picked up several items and went to the check out counter, while the clerk was bagging the items the male subject pulled a knife and told the clerk to give him all the money in the caseh register. The subject left on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. The subjects direction of travel leaving the store was unknown to the clerk.

The case is still under investigation by Tpr. Ryan Hamilton , assisting in the investigation is Det. Kevin Newsome also of the Kentucky State Police Post 09.
