Murder Investigation in Maytown, KY

Date of News Release: 11/27/2008

(Pikeville, KY) - Kentucky State Police Troopers from Post 09 were called to 38 Dogwood Heights, Maytown, KY. at approximately 2:47 A.M. by Joshua A. Mock. Mr. Mock reported to Kentucky State Police Post 09 Dispatchers that he had just shot his wife in the neck at their residence. Detective Ben Cramer and Detective Billy J. Caudill of the Kentucky State Police were also dispatched to the scene along with Assistant Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson. While at the scene Detectives learned that this shooting was the result of a domestic altercation between the couple that escalated to Joshua Mock shooting his wife in the neck. She later died at St. Joes Hospital, Martin, KY.

The body of Linda Mock is being sent to the Kentucky State Medical Examiners Office for autopsy. Joshua A. Mock was arrested and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center by Detective Ben Cramer.

This case is still under investigation by Kentucky State Police Detective Ben Cramer.
