Fatal Motorcycle Collision on KY Route 908 in Inez, KY

(Pikeville, KY) - On 9/5/2008 at approximately 2345 hours, Post 9 was contacted by Martin County Sheriff's Department requesting assistance on a motorcycle accident. Leonard Timms was operating a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Kentucky Route 908 (Coldwater Road) when he encountered debris in the roadway. Mr. Timms struck the debris, causing him to loose control, leaving the roadway and struck an embankment. Mr. Timms was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injures as a result of the accident. Mr. Timms was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Martin County Coroner Joe Mullins pronounced Mr. Timms dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation by Trooper Josh Brewer.
