Shooting Investigation in Pike County

(Pikeville, KY) - Post 9 received a call on 9/1/08 in reference to a shooting at the Valhalla Trailer Park at Millard in Pike County. Trooper Melissa Hampton arrived along with CVE Officer Jamie Rose to find Michael D. Slone shot in the chest with a high powered rifle. They were able to take Timothy R. Adkins into custody without incident. Detective Eddie Crum responded to the scene along with Captain Jeff Caudill, Sgt Steve Spurlock and Trooper Ryan Hamilton. Mr. Adkins was lodged in the Pike County Detention Center for Assault 1st. Mr. Slone has been flown to Cabel Huntington Hospital.
