Fatal Collision on Goose Creek Road in Floyd County

(Pikeville, KY) - Herman Meade was traveling northbound on Goose Creek Road in a Chevy Lumina when he ran off the southbound shoulder, overcorrected, traveled across both lanes, and over an embankment. The vehicle overturned causing Herman Meade to be ejected. Herman Meade was transported by ambulance to St. Joe's Hospital in Martin where he was later pronounced dead by an emergency room physician. There were no other occupants or vehicles involved and next of kin has been notified. The accident is still under investigation by Trooper David Watkins.
